Netflix has just inked a deal for three more seasons of the Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg animated comedy, Big Mouth, according to Deadline. The renewal was signed with Brutus Pink, the production company recently setup by the show’s creative team of Kroll, Goldberg and screenwriter/directors Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett. All four serve as executive producers on the show. The renewal comes on the heels of Netflix’s announcement two days ago not to renew the adult animated comedy, Tuca & Bertie, BoJack HorseMan production designer Lisa Hanawalt’s quirky and highly-rated series about the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building, starring Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong.
The Big Mouth deal also reportedly leaves open the opportunity for renewals past Season 6, as well as calls for the four to continue working on Big Mouth while also developing new adult animated films and TV series through Brutus Pink. The critically acclaimed half-hour adult animated comedy from real-life best friends Kroll (Kroll Show, The League) and Goldberg (Family Guy) is about the glorious nightmare that is teenaged puberty. Comedian John Mulaney (John Mulaney: The Comeback Kid, Saturday Night Live) lends his voice to the character of Andrew, while Kroll (who serves as co-creator, executive producer) voices many including best friend Nick. The voice cast also includes Maya Rudolph (Maya & Marty, Bridesmaids), Jason Mantzoukas (The League, Lady Dynamite), Jordan Peele (Keanu, Key and Peele), Fred Armisen (Portlandia, Documentary Now!), Jenny Slate (Girls, Lady Dynamite) and Jessi Klein (Inside Amy Schumer).
